Our approach

Taylor Mick Law, LLC was founded on the belief that the law is most powerful when it serves the people it was meant to protect. Our mission is rooted in the same principles that have fueled generations of progress: dignity, fairness, and the unwavering defense of individual rights.

Attorney Taylor Mick brings years of experience in state and federal courtrooms, handling complex criminal cases, high-level appeals, and sensitive civil matters. Before founding the firm, Taylor served as an Assistant Prosecuting Attorney in Franklin County, gaining firsthand insight into the justice system from the inside — and a clear understanding of how to challenge it when it fails the people it should serve.

We stand with clients from all walks of life: workers, families, community leaders, and everyday people whose lives have been disrupted by legal challenges. No matter the case, our approach is personal, strategic, and unyielding.

Taylor Mick

Attorney Taylor M. Mick, founder of Taylor Mick Law, LLC, is an Ohio Valley native dedicated to serving clients across Ohio, West Virginia, and Pennsylvania. A magna cum laude graduate of Case Western Reserve University School of Law, Taylor began her legal career at the United Nations International Criminal Tribunal for Rwanda in Arusha, Tanzania, working on matters of international justice. She went on to practice civil rights, family, and criminal law in Cleveland, Pittsburgh, and Columbus, gaining experience in both state and federal courts before returning home to St. Clairsville to open her own firm.

Taylor’s career has taken her through nearly every corner of the justice system. She clerked for the Honorable Eleanor L. Bush on the Superior Court of Pennsylvania, authored opinions on matters of first impression, and assisted with custody, dependency, and delinquency proceedings. She then represented clients in both state and federal criminal cases at respected firms in Pittsburgh and Columbus, handling trials, appeals, and post-conviction litigation, including white collar defense and federal investigations. Most recently, she served as an Assistant Prosecuting Attorney in the Franklin County Prosecutor’s Office, where she argued appeals before the Ohio Tenth District Court of Appeals and the Ohio Supreme Court, tried felony jury cases, and authored legal guidance for more than 200 attorneys on constitutional and statutory issues. This breadth of experience — from prosecutor to defense attorney, trial lawyer to appellate advocate — gives her clients a rare and balanced perspective.

Taylor founded her firm with a mission: to make the law work for people, not against them. Inspired by the values of the civil rights and labor movements, she is committed to fighting for fairness, protecting the dignity of her clients, and standing up to powerful institutions. She also serves as a Board Member of “Why Don’t You Stay Awhile,” a local nonprofit, and hopes to inspire Ohio Valley youth to pursue careers rooted in service. Outside of her practice, she enjoys traveling, reading, gardening, and has never met a stray animal she didn’t try to rescue.

“The arc of the moral universe is long, but it bends toward justice.”
